Applications now open for grants of up to $5,000 under the new COVID-19 Business Impact Support Program
The Tasmanian Government has announced a support package for businesses that have been impacted by the current COVID situation.
This program has been established to provide support to Tasmanian businesses whose business operations have been impacted since our borders reopened on 15 December, 2021, either because of a loss of staff due to COVID-19 quarantine and isolation requirements, or a significant COVID-19 related downturn in business turnover.
Funding of between $1000 and $5000 will be available to eligible businesses, depending on business size. The first tranche of the program will be for businesses that have been impacted during the period from 15 December 2021 through to today, 14 January 2022.
To be eligible businesses must:
- be able to demonstrate a minimum of 30% reduction in turnover when comparing 15 December – 14 January 2022, with the same period in 2021
- have a COVID-19 Safety Plan
- a completed risk assessment in place and, where required, a COVID-19 Case and Outbreak Management Plan, and
- have been using the Check in Tas app
Support of up to $5,000 will also be available to businesses that experienced an unavoidable loss of perishable goods because they have had to close.
Applications are now open and close at 2pm 9 February 2022.
