Footpath Trading Policy and Guidelines – Have Your Say

Glenorchy City Council is Calling on our Community to Have Your Say on the Draft Footpath Trading Guidelines

Footpath trading is a great way to activate our streets and create a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere for all of the community to enjoy.

Glenorchy City Council (GCC) want to enable this active street life in our municipality by making it easier for businesses to utilise the space in front of their shopfront for outdoor street dinning.

To ensure that our pedestrians are safe and that accessibility of the pathways is not impacted, GCC have developed a draft Footpath trading Guideline and Policy for businesses to follow and now we would like to hear your feedback on what has been included.

The Footpath Trading Policy and Guidelines will apply to where trading on the footpath can occur for:

  • Outside dining
  • Display of goods
  • A-gram or portable advertising signs

To have your say on these guidelines head to the GCC Let’s Talk Page through the link below to download the guidelines, fill in the survey or take the quick poll.

Consultation is open until 2 May 2022.
