Moonah Taste of the World Festival

Moonah Taste of the World Festival is Southern Tasmania’s most popular multicultural festival. The annual festival is a joyous opportunity to showcase Tasmania’s culturally and linguistically diverse communities. The festival builds the capacity of these vibrant communities, boosts community pride and promotes understanding and embracing of diversity.

New direction for 2021

This year, Moonah Taste of the World Festival takes on an exciting new flavour. To keep the festival safe, fun, and inclusive, Council is developing a program of events and activities across Harmony Week at a range of indoor and outdoor venues. Just for 2021 these smaller COVID-19 safe events will replace the large, one-day event of previous years.

We are currently working on the program for 7 days of small events and activities around Moonah for the week of 15-21 March and we would love to hear from you!

Some ideas of how you can be involved:

  • Host a musician for performances in your café or restaurant
  • Put on a themed night featuring dishes from a certain region or country
  • Feature some “Moonah Taste of the World” specials on your menu for the week of the festival
If you would like to be involved in the festival and included on the festival map, please get in touch by Tuesday 9 February 2021.
