Round 3 of the COVID-19 Business Impact Support Program Now Open

Applications now open for Round 3 grants of up to $10,000 under the new COVID-19 Business Impact Support Program

The Tasmanian Government has announced a third round of support for businesses that have been impacted by the current COVID situation.

Round three of the program is targeted at assisting businesses that experienced trading losses or reduced customer demand due to COVID-19 for the period of 15 February to 14 March  2022.

If your business has been impacted due to:

  • critical staff being required to isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19; or
  • being forced to close due to a Public Health Direction; or
  • suffered a significant reduction in demand

that has resulted in a reduction in turnover due to COVID-19 or 30% or more bewteen 15 February to 14 March 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, then check out the guidelines for this grant to see that you are eligible to complete your application.

Newly established businesses that did not operate for the full 2020-21 financial year will be asked to project an annual sales turnover of between $25 000 and $10 million for the 2021-22 financial year (1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022)

Evidence of annual turnover includes:

  • copy of the latest lodged Business Activity Statement for the entire year or a copy of the most recent lodged business tax return if not registered for GST.
  • Other similar documentation that clearly demonstrates annual business turnover is greater than $25 000 and is related to the business ABN.

Support is also available to eligible businesses that have suffered an unavoidable loss of perishable goods due to the reasons detailed above, and were required to close for their regular trading week and have not previously received grant assistance for that same loss from another Tasmanian Government program (for example if a business normally trades from Monday to Friday then the business would need to be closed for this period).

Applications are now open and close at 2pm Tuesday 5 April 2022.
