Tasmanian Government New COVID-19 Recovery Package for Small Businesses

Small Business Sustainability and Recovery Grant Program

The Tasmanian Government has today announced a new $20 million recovery package for small business.

The new COVID-19 Small Business funding includes $17 million in grants that will directly help local operators in industries:

  • heavily reliant on the visitor economy impacted by border closures;
  • significantly impacted by public health restrictions;
  • reliant on contributing to the local supply chain of sectors that continue to be impacted by border closures or public health restrictions;
  • heavily reliant on exporting a significant proportion of their product to interstate and/or international markets that continue to be impacted by COVID-19.

Open: Monday 3rd August – 12 noon
Close: Monday 24th August – 12 noon

A limited number of grants of $5,000 are available and applicants will need to meet all the eligibility criteria.

COVID-19 Business Support, Grants and Loans Information

Small Business Support Programs

A further $3 million is also being provided to enhance existing small business support programs and provide additional mental health support. These support programs include:

  • Tourism Industry Market Support Program; which allows additional free business advice through Enterprise Centres and;
  • Digital Ready for Business which will include additional initiatives to improve access to mental Health Support Programs.
